Choose your trailer to see the correct setup and troubleshooting steps:
Moved your trailer? If it has been moved from its original drop-off location, it may have a weak cellular signal or be configured for a different carrier. Contact your EquipmentShare representative before using it.
Sun Surveillance Trailer
Setup
1. Place the trailer
Tow the trailer to your chosen location using a 2-inch ball hitch.
Position it so the solar panels can face south without shade from trees, buildings, or tall equipment.
With the tires still on the ground, lower all four stabilizing legs. If the tires lift, raise the legs slightly.
Use a 2- to 4-foot level to confirm the trailer is balanced.
2. Power on
Remove the camera's transport wrap before turning on power. Powering on the camera with the wrap in place can damage it.
Open the battery enclosure and turn all three breakers ON. The included key may be required. After a few seconds, the PTZ camera should rotate 360 degrees to confirm it has power.
3. Check the cellular connection
Look for the router indicator near the bottom-right antenna:
Light | Status |
Orange | Powered on but not connected |
Multicolor | Searching for a network |
Blue or purple | Connected |
4. Raise the mast
Remove the locking pin.
Crank the mast upward. Stop when you see red paint.
Reinsert the locking pin.
5. Set the solar panels
Remove the travel straps and store them inside the electronics enclosure for later transport.
Loosen the set screws on the mast and use your phone's compass to rotate the panels to face south.
Remove the side panel pins, lift the panels into position, and reinsert the pins.
Tilt the panel mast up.
6. Finalize placement
Remove the lower pin from the tongue, lift the tongue toward the base, and reinsert the pin.
7. Aim the cameras
PTZ and quad-lens cameras: Your EquipmentShare representative can set the home position remotely. Contact your representative to request it.
Bullet camera: Aim the fixed lens manually with a T30 Torx screwdriver. Check the camera's live feed to verify the view. If you do not have access to the feed, contact the email above or your representative.
Troubleshooting
If the trailer was moved without notifying your representative, its location or carrier configuration may affect the connection. Contact your representative if the issue continues.
Camera is not powering on
Open the battery enclosure and confirm all three breakers are ON.
Wait 30 to 60 seconds. The PTZ camera should rotate 360 degrees when powered.
Confirm the solar panels are raised and facing south. Use the mast set screws to rotate them if needed.
Router light stays orange or multicolor
Orange means the router has power but is not connected. Multicolor means it is searching. Blue or purple means it is connected.
Turn all three breakers OFF.
Wait 10 seconds, then turn them ON.
Wait 2 to 3 minutes.
If the router still does not connect, contact your EquipmentShare representative.
Camera feed is not showing
Confirm the mast is fully raised and locked.
Check that nothing blocks the cameras.
Confirm the solar panels are facing south to provide adequate power.
The camera stream may still be migrating to your T3 account. Contact your representative to check.
Solar panels are not charging
Use a phone compass to rotate the panels south.
Check that the side panel pins are fully inserted.
Remove shade from equipment, structures, or trees.
Clean dust or mud from the panels if needed.
Bullet camera points the wrong way
Adjust it with a T30 Torx screwdriver.
Check the alignment in the live feed or ask your representative for help.
Avoid overtightening the screws.
PTZ camera spins nonstop
Low power or a router connection issue may be the cause.
Check the router light and confirm all three breakers are ON.
Make sure the panels are raised and facing south.
Turn the power OFF, wait 30 seconds, then turn it ON.
Radar is not detecting correctly
Confirm the PTZ camera and radar both face the detection zone.
Give your EquipmentShare representative the GPS coordinates for calibration.
