The E-Logs feature located within EquipmentShare T3 and the E-Logs app provides a method for commercial drivers to log and manage Hours of Service (HOS) records, Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports (DVIRs), and supporting documents for Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) compliance purposes.

To get started, an E-Logs Driver must be created to use the E-Logs app.

Adding an E-Logs Driver to E-Logs App

Adding a driver to use the E-Logs app can be done in a few easy steps within EquipmentShare T3. Only a Manager or Owner role has the ability to add a driver in EquipmentShare T3. For more information, check out the Roles and Permissions article.

Before creating an E-Logs Driver in the system, you need to determine if the user will only need access to the E-Logs app or if they will also need access to use T3.

I have an existing E-Logs app driver that now needs access to T3 - what do I do?

When the E-Logs Driver only has access to the E-Logs app and would like access to the T3 as well, you’ll have to create a new T3 user profile AND E-Logs Driver profile. Follow the steps above for Creating an E-Logs Driver that needs E-Logs App AND T3 Access using an all-new username and email address credentials.

Editing an E-Logs Driver's Settings

Once a driver is set up to use the E-Logs app to stay ELD-compliant while driving, their profile settings can be edited to ensure their settings are accurate for the driver.

A Manager or Owner role within T3 has the permissions to log into the E-Logs browser app to manage and adjust their driver's settings. Use the driver's Edit form to update the following:

  • Name

  • Username

  • Password

  • Driver License

  • Issuing State

  • Cycle Rule

  • Exemption

  • Work Reporting Location

  • Time Zone

Follow these steps to access the driver's Edit form in T3.

  • Locate the driver from the table view and scroll to the right. Select the settings ellipsis and then Edit.

  • Make any adjustments and then click Save.

Deleting an E-Logs Driver

A Manager or Owner role can remove an E-Logs driver from the E-Logs app.

  • Log into the Fleet browser app of T3.

  • Select Company from the left menu.

  • From the Users tab, locate the driver for removal.

  • Scroll to the right and select the settings ellipsis. And then select Delete.

  • The driver will be removed from the system.
