Volvo Integration with T3

Learn how to connect your Volvo data with T3 to monitor and track equipment in one place.

Easily view asset data from your Volvo equipment in T3 with the Volvo CareTrack integration. With a quick setup, you can bring select telematics data from CareTrack-enabled machines directly into your T3 Fleet platform via the AEMP Telematics Standard (ISO 15143-3), no additional hardware required.

For more information on the capabilities of AEMP integrations in T3, check out the T3 OEM Integrations Overview article.

What You Need Before You Start

The Volvo CareTrack integration requires a few pre-requisites to ensure a smooth setup.

Equipment Requirements

  • Your machines must have Volvo CareTrack hardware built in. Most newer Volvos come with this hardware.

  • Make sure your machines are active and reporting to CareTrack.

  • If your machines aren’t showing up in CareTrack, contact your Volvo dealer first.

Account & Subscription Access

  • You must have a Volvo CareTrack subscription. For most users, the North America AEMP API 2.0 Base Subscription Plan is recommended. If your fleet has over 500 assets, the Advanced Subscription Plan is a better fit.

  • An active T3 subscription.

User Credentials & Permissions

  • Valid Volvo North America AEMP API 2.0 credentials provided by Volvo. Don't have credentials?

    • IDP ID

    • IDP Secret

    • x-gw-client-id

    • x-gw-client-secret

  • Manager or Admin-Level role within T3.

Setting Up the Integration in T3

  1. Log into T3 Fleet.

  2. Navigate to the Company page and select the Integrations tab. The Integrations homepage will display.

  3. Locate the Volvo CareTrack integration and select Add integration.

  4. Enter the credentials from Volvo:

    • IDP ID

    • IDP Secret

    • x-gw-client-id

    • x-gw-client-secret

  5. Click Submit credentials. T3 will validate the credentials and begin syncing your CareTrack data.

  6. You will be returned to the OEM Integrations page. The integration status will be Pending while the data imports.

  7. Once the feeds for the equipment in the OEM fleet are available in T3, the status of the card will change to Connected.

  8. Once the integration has a Connected status, you can begin assigning the feeds to assets created in T3. The feeds appear in T3 as tracker devices. For more information, see Assigning a Tracker Device to An Asset in T3.
