Understanding Which Accounts a T3 API Key Can Access

A T3 API key provides access based on the account selected when the key is created.

Single-account access

If the selected account does not have an approved multi-account relationship, the key provides access only to that account’s available data.

Parent and associated account access

If a parent account already has approved mappings to associated accounts, a key created under the parent account can also access the mapped accounts.

Creating a key under a different account does not automatically provide the same parent and associated account access.

Custom access scopes

Custom access scopes are not currently available. An individual key cannot be limited to selected:

  • Associated accounts

  • Assets

  • API endpoints

Keep this access model in mind when determining who can use the key and where it is stored.

Missing account access

If an expected associated account is missing, contact Support and provide:

  • The account name and T3 company ID

  • The missing account’s name and company ID

  • The relationship between the accounts

  • The business reason access is needed

Do not include your API key or other credential values in the request. Account relationships must be reviewed and approved before access can be changed.
