Using Search Nearby on the T3 Map

Learn how to use the search nearby feature to identify assets located near a specific point on the T3 Map.

Updated this week

Search Nearby helps users quickly identify assets located near a specific point on the T3 Map. The feature ranks assets by distance from a selected location and allows users to preview driving routes to compare options before selecting an asset.

This can be used when planning swaps, fulfilling equipment needs, or identifying the closest available unit.

Start a Search

  1. Open the T3 Map.

  2. Right-click with a mouse anywhere on the map. This can be:

    • An asset marker

    • A job site address

    • Any point of interest on the map

  3. Select Search Nearby.

Right-clicking establishes an anchor location, which is used as the reference point for all distance calculations in the search.

Note: To open Search Nearby on a laptop, press down with two fingers on the trackpad to perform a right-click.

View Nearby Assets

Once the search begins, the Search Nearby panel opens and displays assets ranked by their distance from the anchor location.

Distance is initially calculated using straight-line distance from the anchor point.

Use the radius control to limit results to assets within:

  • 25 miles

  • 50 miles

  • 75 miles

  • 100 miles

Preview Driving Distance

To compare travel distance between assets:

  1. Hover over an asset from the Search Nearby results.

  2. The map displays the suggested driving route.

  3. The driving distance in miles is shown on the route.

Hover over different assets to compare routes and determine which unit is closest or most practical to dispatch.

Use Search Nearby with Map Filters

Search Nearby works alongside existing T3 Map filters.

Filters can be applied to narrow the results before comparing distances.

For example:

  1. Apply the Category filter to match the asset type (for example, diesel generator).

  2. Apply the Availability filter to show Ready to Rent units.

  3. Use Search Nearby to rank the filtered assets by distance.

  4. Click assets to preview routes and identify the best option.

Combining filters with Search Nearby helps quickly identify the closest asset that meets operational needs.
