When switching between timeframe views on the T3 Map, the data may look different depending on the hours selected. This article explains why that happens and what to expect.
How the Timeframes Are Calculated
Each timeframe shows data from that many hours back from the current moment.
The 24-hour view shows the last 24 hours
The 12-hour view shows the last 12 hours
The 2-hour view shows the last 2 hours
If the asset was turned off during part of that timeframe, the chart will not show data for that period. This is why you may see blank or empty space on the left side of the graph.
Why Numbers Change When Switching Between Timeframes
The chart summarizes data differently depending on the selected timeframe:
2-hour and 12-hour views show more detailed data
24-hour view shows more general, hourly data
Because of this, some values may look slightly different across views.
The value shown on the Asset Details page is the most recent reading sent from the machine. The Trends chart shows calculated values based on the timeframe you choose. When you move your cursor over the chart, the number you see is the calculated value for that point in time, not the real-time reading. Small differences between the chart and Asset Details are expected.
Key Points to Remember
Timeframes always show “the last X hours from now,” even if the asset wasn’t running the entire time.
Gaps in the chart mean the asset wasn’t generating data during that timeframe.
Shorter timeframes show more detailed information; longer timeframes show more summarized information.
Small differences between views are normal because each timeframe uses a different level of detail.
