Take control of your fleet's details and settings by using the Edit Asset form. It is the central location for updating your asset's name, adding a new photo, branch, make, model, driver name, VIN, hours, group associations, manual location, and more.
Editing Asset Details
Log into T3's Fleet web app.
Select Map from the left navigation menu.
From the asset list, expand to find your asset.
Select the asset and then Details.
Select the Edit tab.
Within the form, make changes to your asset. Hover over any info icons to read the tooltips.
For a description of each field, see the Asset Field Definitions section.
For assistance with the Tracker assignment, see Tying an Asset to a Tracker Device.
For assistance with Camera assignment, see Assigning a T3 Dash Cam to an asset.
When you are done, select Save asset.
Changing an Asset’s Type
On Asset Details > Edit, use the Asset Type picker to change an asset to or from Vehicle or to another available type. Enter any details needed for the new type, then select Save asset.
Some details may no longer apply when an asset’s type changes. A confirmation message shows which details on the asset will be removed:
Changing to Vehicle: Serial Number and Hourly Cost of Operating
Changing from Vehicle: DOT Number and Driver
Changing to a type other than Vehicle or Trailer: VIN and License Plate
Changing to Trailer, Attachment, Bucket, or Small Tool: Default Driver assignment
Switching back to the original type before saving keeps those details. Changing a Trailer to a Vehicle keeps its VIN and license plate, so no confirmation message appears.
An asset’s type cannot be changed while it is on a pending, scheduled, on-rent, or off-rent rental. If a rental prevents the change, the message identifies that rental.
