Understand the differences between the V1 and V2 T3 Dash Cam and how to swap out V1 for V2.

Key Differences: V1 vs V2

  • Form Factor: V1 has a vertical casing; V2 has a horizontal casing.

  • SD Card Slot: V1 slot is on the bottom; V2 slot is on the side.

  • Power & Mounting: V1 and V2 power boxes and camera mounts are not interchangeable.

  • LED Indicators: V2 removes nonessential LED lights to simplify status indication.

Swapping from V1 to V2

When replacing a V1 camera with a V2 due to an Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA), you must also replace the window mount and power box.

  1. Remove V1 Hardware

    • Detach the V1 camera mount and clean the windshield surface.

    • Remove the V1 power box and disconnect its cable.

    • Unplug the V-Display (if connected).

  2. Install V2 Hardware

    • Securely mount the V2 power box to a rigid structure.

    • Mount the V2 camera near the center of the windshield.

    • Reconnect the V-Display to the new power box.

  3. Set Up & Confirm

    • Calibrate the V2 camera with the Titan app.

    • Start the vehicle to power on the camera.

    • Press the camera button to confirm video transmission.

    • Use the tuck tool to route cables neatly behind panels.
