Assigning a T3 Dash Cam to an Asset

Instructions on assigning, reassigning, or removing a T3 Dash Cam for an asset in the T3 platform or Link app.

Connecting your T3 Dash Cam with your asset in the T3 platform or Link app is easier than ever with the self-serve setup workflow.

Pre-Step

Before installing the T3 Dash Cam in your asset, write down or take a photo of the serial number. This is a unique identifier for your specific T3 Dash Cam. You'll need this later to assign your T3 Dash Cam to your asset.

Assigning a T3 Dash Cam to a New Asset in the T3 platform

After the T3 Dash Cam is installed in the asset, you'll need to add the asset to the T3 platform. This is when you'll assign the T3 Dash Cam to the asset.

  • From the T3 Fleet web app, select the Assets page from the left menu.

  • Select the Add Asset button and then Single Asset.

  • Follow the step-by-step asset form.

    • See the Adding an Asset to T3 for more information.

💡 The Asset Name you input for the asset will appear exactly as entered on the T3 Camera page.

  • In the Asset Details page, find the Camera field on the form.

  • Open the Camera dropdown options to display your company's T3 Dash Cam serial numbers. These will already be loaded into T3 for your company.

❗ If you do not see your serial number, contact Customer Support.

  • Select the appropriate serial number tracker device for the asset. You can type in the number or select from the dropdown options.

  • Select Save asset.

Assigning a T3 Dash Cam to an Existing Asset in the T3 platform

After the T3 Dash Cam is installed in the asset, you can assign it to an existing asset in the system.

  • From the T3 Fleet web app, select the Map page from the left menu.

  • Locate the asset from the asset list.

  • Select Details.

  • Select the Edit tab.

  • Scroll to the bottom of the form until you see the Camera field.

  • Open the Camera dropdown options to display your company's T3 Dash Cam serial numbers. These will already be loaded into T3 for your company!

❗ If you do not see your serial number, contact Customer Support.

  • Select the appropriate serial number tracker device for the asset. You can type in the number or select from the dropdown options.

  • Select Save asset.

Reassigning the T3 Dash Cam to another Asset in the T3 platform

You can fully manage your T3 Dash Cams by reassigning them to another asset in your platform.

  • From the T3 Fleet web app, select the Map page from the left menu.

  • Locate the asset from the asset list.

  • Select Details.

  • Select the Edit tab.

  • Scroll to the bottom of the form until you see the Camera field.

  • Select the X to remove the camera.

    • Note: Removing the camera from an asset will not cancel the subscription. Please contact T3 Sales for questions and support on enrolled device subscriptions.

Assigning a T3 Dash Cam to a New Asset in the Link app

  • Open the Link app.

  • Select Assets from the main menu.

  • Select Add Asset in the bottom right corner.

  • Complete the Add Asset screen steps by selecting which type of asset you are adding and include a name for the asset. Select Next to continue.

  • On the Review screen, select Add Details in the Additional Details section.

  • Tap within the Camera field and choose the camera's serial number.

  • Select Save.

Assigning a T3 Dash Cam to an Existing Asset in the Link app

  • Open the Link app.

  • Select Assets from the main menu.

  • Locate the asset from the asset list.

  • Scroll to the Additional Details section and select Edit.

  • Tap within the Camera field and choose the camera's serial number.

  • Select Save.
