This guide explains how to retrieve and download a historical video clip from a camera using the T3 Camera page.
Select a Vehicle
There are a few places to start fetching historical footage:
The Events tab
a) Select an individual asset > Fetch Video History
b) Select an event > More Footage > Fetch Video History
The Saved Videos tab
Select an individual vehicle > Fetch Video History
The Dash Cams tab
Click the serial number for a camera > Fetch Video History
From an Asset in the Events tab
You can access the historical video fetching experience in the Driver/Asset sidebar on the Event tab.
Filter the Driver/Asset sidebar by Asset on the left side of the screen.
Select the More menu (three dots) next to the asset name and select Fetch Video History in the popover menu.
From an Individual Event in the Events Tab
While on the Camera > Events tab, you may want to fetch additional footage from the same camera that reported an event.
Find and select any event.
From the top of the event screen, select Fetch Video History.
Note: This option is collapsed into the More Footage menu on smaller screens
From the Saved Videos tab
While on the Camera > Saved Videos tab, you may want to pull additional footage.
Select an individual Vehicle from the left side of the screen.
At the top right of the screen, select Fetch Video History.
Note: Even if there are no events for the selected vehicle, you may still be able to Fetch Video History.
From the Dash Cams tab
While on the Camera > Dash Cams tab, you can initiate the Fetch Historical Video experience by clicking on a value on the Camera Serial column.
Search the table by Asset or Camera serial number, then click the value in the Camera Serial column.
A popover menu will give you an option to Fetch Historical Video.
2. Preview and Select Footage to Pull
Once you have opened the Fetch Historical Video experience, follow the recommended steps below to download the footage you need.
Locating and previewing your desired footage
Adjust the Start Time by opening the date picker, selecting a date, and updating the time.
Click throughout the timeline to find precisely what you need. The colored sections indicate the availability of stored footage throughout the day.
A thumbnail preview will show a snapshot of what you've selected in the timeline.
Use the Video Duration slider to set the length of your clip.
Note: Longer clips can extend the time it takes to download footage, especially in weak cell coverage areas.
Select the Play Stream button to preview the clip.
Note: The play stream function may not be available if the vehicle is currently in a low cell service area.
Once you're ready to fetch the video clip
Select the down arrow and then Fetch Default-Res video file (this is recommended as it is the fastest).
The system will connect to the camera and provide status updates indicating progress.
Notes on Camera Mode:
If the camera is ON, it will be added to the queue and downloaded immediately.
If the camera is OFF, the download request is added to the queue and it will download when the camera turns on.
If the camera is in SLEEP MODE, it will wake up the camera and then download immediately.
When the system says it is Downloading Video, you may close the window or remain on the page.
When the video has completed downloading, you will see a confirmation message. You can play or save the file to your computer from this screen.
3. Monitoring Download Progress in the Downloads Queue
If you remain on the fetch video screen while the download is in progress, the Downloads Queue is available at the top right.
If you navigate away while the footage is still downloading, you can check the download’s status by navigating to the Saved Videos tab and opening the Queue for a particular vehicle.
Navigate to the Saved Videos tab, select the vehicle associated with your download in the left column, and then click Queue near the top right of the screen.
Note: If the download does not complete within 48 hours of the fetch request, the request is removed and will need to be fetched again. This may happen when the camera is in a low cellular coverage area. You can always pull footage directly from the SD cards.
4. Finding Saved Historical Video Later
After you have completed the fetching process, you can later access your saved videos in a few ways:
Camera Page > Saved Videos tab
Clicking this tab will show all saved historical videos from the past week.
If necessary, use the filter menu in the Saved Videos tab to expand the date range.
Saved Videos > Single Vehicle Queue
Viewing the download queue for a particular vehicle will also show you recent or in-progress video downloads.
In the Saved Videos tab, select a vehicle on the left side and click on “Queue.”
5. Viewing Saved Historical Videos
Once your download is complete, you can click on a saved historical video and view it on the Camera tab.
If you want to save the footage to your computer, select the Download button at the top and select Download to Computer.
