Manage Driver Facial Recognition in T3

Set up, verify, and manage driver facial recognition profiles using the T3 Camera page.

Facial Recognition in T3 helps identify drivers using T3 Dash camera snapshots and driver-uploaded photos. This helps teams:

  • Associate operating time with the correct driver

  • Identify unauthorized equipment usage

  • Verify driver-submitted photos from DriveShield

  • Manage and clean up facial recognition profiles

Requirements

  • Admin permissions in T3

  • Drivers must already exist in T3 before they can be assigned to a facial recognition profile

Access Facial Recognition Settings

  1. Log in to T3 and open the Fleet App

  2. Navigate to Camera

  3. Select the Settings tab

  4. Select Facial Recognition

The Facial Recognition page displays all driver facial recognition profiles for your organization.

Upload Driver Photos Manually

Owners and administrators can upload driver photos to create or improve facial recognition profiles.

Upload a Photo

  1. Open the Camera page

  2. Select Settings

  3. Select Drivers

  4. Find and select the driver

  5. Click Upload

  6. Select an image from your computer

  7. Click Save Changes

Delete an Uploaded Photo

Hover over the image and select the delete option.

Note: Driver photos uploaded in the Fleet App → Company → Drivers section do not currently sync with Facial Recognition photos in the Camera section of T3.

Verify Driver-Uploaded Photos

Drivers can upload profile photos through the DriveShield app. These photos must be reviewed and approved before they can be used for facial recognition.

Verify or Reject a Photo

  1. Open the Camera page

  2. Select Settings

  3. Select Facial Recognition

  4. Filter profiles by Pending

  5. Review the uploaded image

  6. Click:

    • Verify to approve the image

    • Reject to decline the image

Approved photos display a Verified badge.

If needed, select the menu on the image and choose the revert option to restore the Verify/Reject actions.

Identify Unknown Drivers

When the system captures a driver who has not yet been matched to an existing profile, the driver appears as Unidentified.

Assign an Unknown Driver

  1. Open the Camera page

  2. Select Settings

  3. Select Facial Recognition

  4. Filter by Unidentified

  5. Select Identify

  6. Choose the correct driver from the dropdown list

  7. Confirm the assignment

Once assigned, the facial recognition profile is linked to that driver.

Manage Facial Recognition Profile Images

Each facial recognition profile contains a gallery of images captured by the system or uploaded by drivers.

View Profile Images

Each profile card includes thumbnail images at the bottom of the card.

  • Select a thumbnail to view the full-size image

  • A star icon identifies the current primary image

The primary image is displayed throughout the portal as the driver's profile image.

Set a Primary Image

  1. Select an image thumbnail from the profile

  2. Open the menu

  3. Select Set as Primary

The selected image becomes the driver's primary profile image across T3.

Delete Poor or Incorrect Images

Delete images that:

  • Have poor lighting or camera angles

  • Do not belong to the driver

  • Reduce facial recognition accuracy

Delete an Image

  1. Select the image thumbnail

  2. Open the menu

  3. Select Delete

Use the filters at the top of the page to quickly locate profiles.

Best Practices

  • Use clear, front-facing driver photos when possible

  • Remove blurry or incorrect images to improve recognition accuracy

  • Verify driver-uploaded photos promptly

  • Regularly review unidentified driver profiles
