The Dash Cam Events experience in T3 provides multiple ways to review event footage and understand what occurred during a detected event. This article explains how to open events, navigate event views, and interpret event details.

Note: Some historical events or advanced actions may require opening the legacy view. For more information, see Where can I find Dash Cam Features in T3?

Opening an Event

Events can be opened from either grouped (grid) view or list view.

  • Select an event from the T3 Camera > Events page to open the event details panel. For more information on finding events, see Viewing and Filtering Dash Cam Events.

  • Expand the event and click the footage previewer.

💡 Tip: Hover over the footage to see a quick preview of the recorded event.

  • From the list view, select the event row to open the footage details.

  • The event details view displays available video footage, event information, and location context.

Event Display and Video Playback

Display Details

When an event is opened, the event details view includes:

  • Video playback of the event

  • Multiple camera angles, when available from the T3 Dash Cam

  • Event timestamp and driving context

  • Location information displayed on a map

Video Playback Controls

  • Play or pause the video

  • Scrub through the timeline

  • Adjust playback speed to 0.5x, 1x, 1.5x, or 2x.

  • See the route playback along the map.

Event-to-Event Navigation

When viewing event details, navigation controls appear in the upper-right corner of the event header.

  • The previous and next arrows (top right) move through events based on the current sort order.

  • Events are navigated in the same order shown on the Events page.

  • Filters, grouping, and date range selections remain applied while navigating between events.

This allows events to be reviewed sequentially without returning to the main Events list.

Understanding Event Views

Events can be reviewed using either grid view or list view. Each view supports different review workflows.

Grid View

Grid view displays events grouped by a selected category.

  • Events are organized into collapsible groups based on the selected Group By option.

  • Expanding a group displays individual events for review.

  • Selecting an event opens the event details view.

Grid view is useful for reviewing trends and summarizing events across drivers, assets, dates, or event types.

List View

List view displays events in a table format for detailed review and direct actions.

Event Rows

  • Each row represents a single event.

  • Selecting a row opens the event details view.

Driver and Asset Links

  • Selecting the driver name opens driver details, including the assigned asset and driver email address.

  • Selecting the asset link opens the asset in the T3 map.

Selecting Events in List View

Use the checkbox on the left side of a row to select events.

  • Selecting events enables actions at the bottom of the page.

    • Download supports selecting multiple events.

    • Share is available when a single event is selected.

When to Use Each View

  • Grid view is best for summarizing and comparing events across groups.

  • List view is best for reviewing individual events, accessing driver or asset details, and downloading or sharing footage.

After reviewing the events, you can take action such as share, download, mark as false positive, and delete. See Taking Action on Dash Cam Events.
