Creating and Managing Presets in the Work Orders Table

Instructions on how to use presets in T3 Service page to better manage workflows for service and maintenance tracking.

Updated over a week ago

Presets allow you to save a filtered and sorted table view so you can quickly return to common workflows without rebuilding filters each time.

Presets save:

  • Applied filters

  • Selected view (Service or Inspections)

  • Sorting

  • Column configuration

Select a Preset

  1. In the top right corner of the Work Orders table, select the Preset dropdown.

  2. Choose a saved preset from the list.

The table will automatically update to apply the saved filters and settings.

Create a New Preset

You can create a preset from the Work Orders table.

  1. Apply the filters, sorting, and column layout you want to save.

  2. Select the Preset dropdown.

  3. Select + Create preset.

  4. Enter a name for the preset.

  5. Select Create.

The preset will now appear in the Preset dropdown for future use.

Delete a Preset

  1. Select the Preset dropdown.

  2. Locate the preset you want to remove.

  3. Select the trash icon next to the preset name.

The preset will be permanently removed.

Clear an Active Preset

If you select a preset but want to remove its applied filters.

  1. Select Clear next to the filter bar
    or

  2. Manually remove individual preset at the top of the table by selecting the X.

This clears the applied filters but does not delete the preset.

Example Presets

Here are common examples teams use:

Open Service Calls

Filters:

  • Tags: Service Call

  • Status: Open

Work Orders Waiting on Parts

Filters:

  • Tags: Parts Needed or Waiting on Parts

  • Status: Open

Open Inspections

  • View: Inspections

  • Status: Open

Branch-Specific Open Work Orders

  • Branch: Select branch or location

  • Status: Open

Best Practices for Using Presets

Create role-based presets

Set up presets for common workflows such as Parts Manager, Service Manager, or Branch-specific views. This reduces time spent rebuilding filters daily.

Keep presets focused

Avoid adding too many filters to a single preset. Narrow presets are easier to understand and maintain.

Use clear, consistent names

Name presets based on purpose, such as:

  • Open Service Calls

  • Waiting on Parts

  • Kansas City Open WOs

  • Soft Down Units

Clear naming makes it easier for teams to adopt and reuse them.

Review presets periodically

If workflows change, update or remove outdated presets to avoid confusion.
