Only a Manager or Owner role can add assets to a company portal. The assets can be added individually or in bulk. Use the bulk method if you have multiple assets you are uploading to your T3 platform.

Adding Individual Assets

  • Log into T3 and open the Fleet web app from the navigation bar across the top.

  • From the left navigation menu, select Assets

  • Select the Add Asset button.

  • Complete the List Your Asset form. 

  • Select Save Asset

Adding Assets in Bulk

  • Log into T3 and open the Fleet browser app from the navigation bar across the top.

  • From the left navigation menu, select Assets.

  • Select Bulk Add

  • The Bulk Add Assets window will display. Select from the following CSV file samples depending on what you're uploading.

    • Equipment, Trailer, Attachments, Small Tools and Buckets

    • Vehicles

Follow the Equipment, Trailer, Attachments, Small Tools, and Buckets CSV file reference sheet or Vehicle reference sheet. All fields noted with an asterisk are required.

*Asset Name

The name of the asset.

Must be unique across all your assets.

*Year

The year of the asset.

*Make

The make of the asset.

Use a predefined make.

The model of the asset.

Use a predefined model, leave it blank, and use a custom model field.

Custom Model

The custom model of the asset.

Must be entered if a model is not. Takes precedence if both are specified.

*Category

The category of the asset.

Use a predefined category or create a custom category before bulk upload if it does not exist.

*Class

The class of the asset.

Use a predefined category or create a custom category before bulk upload if it does not exist.

Group

Assign a predefined group.

Color Coding

The color of the asset.

Must choose a preset color (see below).

Default Location

The default location for the asset for when the GPS tracker device does not detect location.

Tracker

Type in the valid tracker device number for the asset.

*Hours

Enter the current hours of the asset.

Enter 0 if not known.

*Branch

Enter a valid company branch for the asset.

Purchase Price (OEC)

(Optional) The purchase price of the asset.

Requires user to have Can Create Asset Financial Records permission set in T3. Contact Customer Success to gain access.

Purchase Date

(Optional) The purchase date for the asset MM/DD/YYYY

*Serial Number

The serial number of the asset.

Engine Make

The engine's make of the asset.

Engine Model

The engine's model of the asset.

Engine Serial Number

The engine's serial number of the asset.

*VIN

The vehicle identification number.

*Odometer

The current odometer reading for the asset.

Defaulted to 0 if no value is entered.

Driver Name

Enter the driver's name of the asset.

DOT Number

Must be a valid DOT number for the company.

Color Coding

  • The template will open. Complete the spreadsheet with your bulk asset information using the following table as a reference.

  • Once the asset information has been completed in the spreadsheet, click File > Save and be sure to keep it in a CSV format. 

  • Return to the Bulk Add Assets window, select a file, or drag & drop your file into the CSV file upload box.

  • A preview of your file's assets will display.

  • If there are any uploading errors in your file, they will display in the preview.

    • Click the error cell to see a helpful message as to why the error exists.

    • You must make the corrections in your file to complete the uploading of assets.

  • Once you are ready to upload the data, click Upload

Reasons for Upload Error

-Not providing a required header/field.

-Uploading invalid Make, Model, Tracker, or Equipment Make fields.

-Using a duplicate Custom ID.

-Leaving the Model and Custom Model fields blank.

-Attempting to create a Class with a name already used by another custom Class in a different Category.

-Specifying a Color Coding value that is not in the presets.

-Entering an Equipment Model or Equipment Serial Number when the associated Equipment Make field is left empty.

  • Upon successful upload, the assets are added to your company's T3 portal and found in the assets table.
